Do You Want To Make Money Blogging And Selling Affiliate Products? Read My Important Three Tips
Many people utilize blogging as a way to make money. The idea is to start a niche blog, write good content about that niche, and then promote affiliate products through ads or through blog posts. The idea is that people searching in that particular niche will find your blog, read it, and then click on the affiliate links and buy the affiliate products for which the blogger will receive a commission.
When you are looking to start an affiliate website, researching a product and niche is quite important. I will discuss this another article. This article will assume that you have already decided on a niche and also some affiliate products.
There are three tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online.
What are these three tips?
1. Use a unique online presence for each affiliate product you are promoting.
The hope is to help the reader focus on just one decision to make as in decision over many products may lead to no purchase at all.
One great way to use your blog posts is to include a product review. You can approach this from many different ways as there are a lot of different ways to write ad copy from the “I was like you and has this problem until..” type ad to a review that is more “straightforward” such as the “This product isn’t for everyone. For example if you are already xxx you don’t need it but if you are yyy..” type ad copy. This type of review post when written well can pre-sell your reader helping with a higher conversion for the affiliate product.
2. Offer free reports to your readers. This will help you recycle your traffic.
A good place to position these as at the top-left side of your page. If you think about it, people read left to right and top to bottom. So they will see your report. After they have your report, you can take advantage of the fact that many studies show that a sale is often made on the seventh contact versus the first contact. This free report allows you to recycle traffic!
You can ask them to join your mailing list to get the freebie. You can also place your own ads in the freebie report.
When you ask for your prospect’s email information, in return you provide the prospect with free information whether it’s a valuable report or video course or something else that that will give the prospect incentive to join your mailing list. Whenever you email your prospect, you are in effect “recycling” your traffic”.
Placing advertisements in your free information, such as at the end of your free ebook, is another way to “recycle” traffic. When someone rereads your report, that counts as an “additional” contact towards a possible sale. Furthermore, if your report is given out to others by that person, that is new traffic as well.
3. Targeted traffic will convert better than non-targeted traffic.
Think about conversion rates. If your site is about dog training, who is more likely to buy, someone looking for dog training or someone looking for stereo systems? You want to attract the traffic that is looking for your site. That is what is meant by targeted traffic.
Here are four tried and true methods for attracting targeted traffic. Each of these methods warrants their own article (or even their own book!). These four methods are: blog networking, forum networking, social network networking, and article marketing.
With blog networking, you are looking to interact with related blogs. That can mean something as involved as guest blogging for a related blog or as easy as commenting on blog posts of a related blog.
Forum networking is exactly what it sounds like. Join forums related to your niche and be an active participant. You need to make sure to join a forum that gets a lot of traffic and also allows you to put links in your signature and in your profile.
With social networking sites, there are often groups created. Find a group related to your niche. Two examples would be myspace groups and facebook groups.
Lastly, for article marketing, you want to write a few articles a month (or more) related to your website and submit them to one or more of the popular article directories out there. Ezinearticles and Goarticles are two very popular sites. The good news is article directories allow you to link back to your site in the author’s resource box.
Statistics dictate you will make a sale about 1% of the time. That’s a conversion rate of 1 out of 100. To increase these rates, you want to in crease traffic. In this article we’ve talked about ways to recycle traffic as a way to increase traffic. We also talked about getting targeted traffic in an effort to increase conversions.
All of these tactics are not difficult. They are simply time consuming. It requires a commitment of time and effort. However, when you do all of these tactics for a sustained period of time, you will find that you will be in a good position for creating a nice source of online income.
Best of luck!
